First, at the end of June we took Lofton on his first plane ride. We decided it was our turn (plus we lost a bet in the Belmont vs. Wisconsin NCAA game) to visit friends we made on our honeymoon, Tony, Amy and now Greyson in Milwaukee! Last time we hung out we were both pregnant so needless to say this trip was going to be slightly different! I was quite anxious about flying with Lofton, not because he wouldn't be good, but because he is so mobile now I was afraid he would not like sitting in our laps for so long. Despite many delays, a nearly missed connection, SITTING on runways for over 2.5 hours more than needed and lost luggage, he was WONDERFUL. The constant anxiety may have killed me, but he couldn't have been better. It was quite a relief.
Once we did get there, we had a great time. I'll post on that later, but for now...here are some pictures from Lofton's first experience in an airport (which he LOVED), running into some familiar faces (The Russell's were leaving for Italy at the gate by ours...we considered joining them instead!) receiving his first pair of "wings" from the pilot, and his first plane ride itself. Don't be fooled by the last picture, he wasn't one of those babies that slept the whole time...we got about 20 minutes of sleep for the entire trip, but again...he was really good, so we didn't complain. We'll see if we do it again any time soon, but I have a feeling if we decide to, he's ready.
