Halloween Week for Unicef!

Happy Halloween Week!!

In honor of Halloween week and a recent experience I had at Belmont, we are kicking off Lofton's "Trick-or-Treating for Unicef" officially on the blog. Obviously, Lofton does not need candy this year and in an effort to teach him about giving, we're starting early by taking part in the trick-or-treat for Unicef campaign. Also, I recently joined in a "Living a Better Story" project hosted at Belmont. Rather than explain all that, CLICK HERE to read my blog post about "my story."

So here's the deal, Lofton is collecting money to buy clean water for kids. His (our) goal is $150 which will provide 6,000 children with clean drinking water for a day or 2,500 packets of Oral Rehydration Salts to help save the lives of children suffering from diarrheal dehydration due to contaminated drinking water. We have currently raised $30 in the "silent phase" of our campaign and have $120 more to go!!

If you would like to contribute or give a couple of bucks instead of sending a card, candy or using it on postage, we'd love for you to help us reach our goal and help kids worldwide! It may seem too early to teach him about giving back, but my hope is one day he will go back and read this blog and know that before he understood, he was helping others.
