As all you either know by now or witnessed, the most exciting thing ever to happen to Belmont Basketball, and therefore, David, ALMOST happened!
Thursday night we watched our Belmont Bruins, a #15 seed, ALMOST upset #2 seeded Duke. Not only would this have been so historical for the BU program, but it would have meant the world to David, who loves 2 teams--UNC & Belmont, both of which HATE Duke!
There have been all sorts of what-ifs, shoulda, woulda, & couldas since Thursday night, but despite the major disappointment, after a few days to reflect there is nothing we can say except that we are so proud of our team! One small step for small conference teams, one giant leap for the Belmont Bruins!
Plus, the near upset provided the commentators endless BU references, which can only help us both as we do our jobs--recruiting students to come to Belmont & alumni to want to come back! Thanks guys!
